Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies will reshape every sector of the economy within a generation. The question is not whether that transformation happens. It is how we will be able to put people at the center of this transformation. Without strong public oversight, AI will accelerate inequality, eliminate jobs without creating new ones, and hand unprecedented power to a small group of largely unaccountable corporations.
Our Promises
Establish robust federal regulation of artificial intelligence, including mandatory transparency requirements for high-risk AI systems, independent auditing for algorithmic bias, and strict prohibitions on the use of AI in life-altering decisions without meaningful human review
Champion comprehensive federal data privacy legislation that gives individuals ownership and control over their personal data, bans the sale of sensitive personal information, and gives regulators real enforcement power against Big Tech
Fight to break up monopolistic control of the internet economy, restore net neutrality, and expand affordable high-speed broadband access to every community in NJ-08 as a public utility
Protect workers from unchecked automation: require companies to give workers advance notice of AI-driven layoffs, fund retraining programs, and explore policies like a robot tax to fund the social safety net as labor markets shift
Support open-source AI research, publicly funded and publicly accountable, to ensure that the benefits of these technologies are broadly shared and not locked behind corporate paywalls
