Health Care

The Issue

Medicare for All

Healthcare is a human right, not a privilege. Too many families in NJ-08 (insured and not-insured) are drowning in premiums, medical debt, and denied claims. Our broken, for profit system costs more and delivers less than any comparable country. It’s time for a solution that puts patients over profits.

Our Promises

  • Stop the closures of Christ Hospital (Jersey City), Bayonne University Hospital, and other medical centers in the district that directly serve their communities

  • Champion Medicare for All: a universal, single-payer system guaranteeing every person comprehensive coverage, including mental health, dental, vision, and reproductive care with no premiums, co-pays, or deductibles

  • Expand federally qualified community health centers in underserved communities and make major investments in mental health infrastructure and preventative care

  • Demand the federal government directly negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical companies, bringing the cost of prescription medications in line with what every other wealthy nation pays

  • Codify the right to abortion into federal law, repeal the Hyde Amendment, and ensure Medicare for All covers the full spectrum of reproductive care with no co-pays or restrictions
